We often hear parents jokingly tell their children, "Don't talk to the police or they'll take you away." While we understand it's usually said in jest, we'd like to reassure children and young people that the police are here to help.

If you are ever scared, lost, worried, or need help, please don't be afraid to come and speak to us. Whether you're out with your family, at school, or in the community, our officers and PCSOs are here to keep you safe and support you.

We want children to see the police as friendly, approachable, and someone they can trust when they need assistance. A simple conversation with a police officer could make all the difference to a child who feels vulnerable or frightened.
